Rockstar Games has just given fans nearly 27 minutes of new GTA VI Extended Look footage, and car enthusiasts have been having a field day analyzing every detail. From everyday traffic to street builds and high-performance machines, Leonida appears to be packed with the deepest automotive culture ever seen in the Grand Theft Auto series.
The footage was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5, showcasing everything from luxury SUVs and modern performance cars to heavily modified street machines and intense racing scenes.
Look closely, and you’ll notice plenty of vehicles that seem heavily inspired by real-world cars from brands like BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Chevrolet, Nissan, Range Rover, and many others.
One of the biggest highlights for automotive fans was the Japanese-style street racing scene. The cars featured huge rear wings, aggressive aero kits, custom liveries, underglow lighting, and styling cues that instantly bring back memories of the early 2000s tuning era.
It’s a scene that feels heavily influenced by the golden age of JDM culture, when modified Nissan Skylines, Honda Civics, Mitsubishi Evos, and other tuner icons dominated the street racing world.
Another interesting detail is a convertible that appears to resemble a BMW 3 Series E30, while other vehicles have sparked comparisons to the Chevrolet Corvette C8, modern Mercedes-AMG performance models, and luxury SUVs.
Of course, Rockstar is still using fictional car manufacturers instead of official automotive brands. That means these are not licensed versions of real vehicles, but rather designs inspired by cars from the real world.
And that mystery is part of the fun. Fans are already debating which real cars inspired certain models, including whether some vehicles are closer to a Nissan Skyline R32 or R34, and which BMW or Mercedes models might have influenced others.

More importantly, the footage suggests that cars could play a much bigger role in GTA VI than simply being something you steal and drive away. The combination of car meets, customization, street racing, and organized competition hints at a much deeper automotive experience in Leonida.
If Rockstar delivers a serious vehicle customization system and a more developed racing scene, GTA VI could become one of the most immersive automotive experiences ever featured in an open-world game.
GTA VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has yet to reveal just how deep vehicle customization, racing events, and car culture features will go.
Which real-world cars did you instantly recognize in the GTA VI Extended Look? And which ones do you think fans are completely misidentifying?
