Creativity knows no limits. Vietnamese wood craftsman and YouTuber Truong Van Dao, the creator behind the popular ND – Woodworking channel (formerly known as Woodworking), has once again amazed the automotive world with his latest masterpiece.
Instead of using metal or fiberglass, Truong transformed recycled wood into a fully functional miniature replica of the Ford F-150 Raptor—a wooden pickup truck that not only looks incredibly realistic but can also be driven as an electric vehicle.
The ambitious project took around 150 days to complete and was originally created as a special gift for his son. With remarkable craftsmanship and incredible attention to detail, Truong turned ordinary pieces of reclaimed wood into a unique automotive work of art.
Built From Wood, Powered by Electricity
The wooden Ford F-150 Raptor replica combines traditional craftsmanship with modern electric vehicle technology. The body is made from carefully selected reclaimed wood, which was shaped, polished, and protected with a clear varnish coating to preserve its natural grain while improving durability.
Underneath the wooden exterior is a custom-built steel chassis equipped with a real suspension system, steering mechanism, wheels, and an electric drivetrain. The vehicle is powered by a battery-powered electric motor that allows it to move forward and reverse.

The most challenging stage was shaping the exterior design. Using a combination of chainsaws, hand tools, and traditional carving techniques, Truong carefully sculpted the aggressive lines that define the Ford F-150 Raptor.
Every detail was handcrafted, from the bold front grille and muscular body shape to the realistic tire patterns carved into the wooden wheels. The process required patience, precision, and a deep understanding of automotive design.
After sanding every surface and applying protective coatings, the final electrical components were installed. The finished vehicle was then tested on the road, proving that the wooden pickup was not just a display piece but a fully functional electric vehicle.
