Max Verstappen Extends Red Bull Racing Contract Until 2030, A New Era Begins

Oracle Red Bull Racing has officially confirmed that Max Verstappen has signed a contract extension that will keep him with the team until the end of the 2030 Formula 1 season.

The announcement was made on Thursday ahead of the media day at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. Verstappen’s previous contract was scheduled to run until 2028 and included exit clauses, but the new agreement strengthens the long-term commitment between the Dutch driver and Red Bull Racing.

The new deal means Verstappen will continue his journey with Red Bull for a total of 15 seasons, beginning from his promotion to the main team in 2016 through the end of the 2030 campaign.

A Historic Partnership Between Verstappen and Red Bull

Since making his debut with Red Bull Racing in 2016, Verstappen has become one of the most successful drivers in the team’s history.

The Dutchman has achieved:

  • 4 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championships
  • 2 Constructors’ Championships with Red Bull Racing
  • 71 Grand Prix victories

His incredible success has made Verstappen the centerpiece of Red Bull’s long-term Formula 1 project, especially as the team prepares for major technical and engine regulation changes in the coming years.

Red Bull’s Leader for a New Formula 1 Era

The contract extension provides stability for Red Bull Racing as the team enters a new chapter in Formula 1. The Milton Keynes-based squad will face major challenges with new engine regulations and increasing competition from rival teams.

By securing Verstappen’s future, Red Bull can continue building its development strategy around a driver who has already proven capable of delivering championships and race victories at the highest level.

Verstappen expressed his excitement about continuing his journey with the team that he considers a second family.

“I have always said it: the team is like a second family for me and I feel very much at home. To continue this journey with the same team that I have been with throughout my whole career is really special and something I have always wanted to do.”Max Verstappen

Red Bull’s decision to secure Verstappen until 2030 shows the incredible trust and confidence between both sides. In Formula 1, where top drivers frequently change teams, keeping a world champion for more than a decade is a major advantage.

However, the biggest challenge for Red Bull will not only be keeping Verstappen, but also ensuring they continue producing a competitive car. Even the greatest drivers in the world still need strong engineering, reliable machinery, and smart strategy to fight for championships.

If Red Bull successfully adapts to the upcoming regulations, Verstappen could add more titles to his record and further strengthen his legacy as one of Formula 1’s greatest drivers.

What do you think? Will Max Verstappen continue dominating Formula 1 until 2030 with Red Bull Racing? Or will the new era of regulations create a bigger challenge for the reigning world champion?
