Ford Motor Company has announced a recall affecting more than 134,000 vehicles in the United States due to potential safety issues involving rearview camera software and exterior trim components.

The recall covers several popular Ford models, including the Ford F-150, Ford F-250 Super Duty, and Ford Mustang Mach-E. The issues are related to problems that could affect driver visibility or cause exterior parts to detach while driving.

The recall consists of two separate campaigns, with one involving a rearview camera display issue and another involving loose rear-side window trim on the Mustang Mach-E.

Affected Ford Models

Ford F-150 (2021–2023)

Certain Ford F-150 models equipped with an 8-inch SYNC infotainment screen are being recalled due to a software issue that may affect the rearview camera display.

When the vehicle is shifted into reverse, the camera image may not appear correctly because the infotainment menu could cover the rear camera view. This could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a collision while reversing.

Ford will fix the problem through a software update, including an over-the-air (OTA) update for eligible vehicles.

Ford F-250 Super Duty (2023–2026)

Certain Ford F-250 Super Duty trucks are also included in the recall due to the same SYNC software-related issue.

The problem could prevent drivers from seeing the rear camera image when backing up, making parking and low-speed maneuvers more difficult and potentially unsafe.

Ford dealers will provide a free software update to correct the issue.

Ford Mustang Mach-E (2023–2025)

The Ford Mustang Mach-E, Ford’s electric performance SUV, is being recalled due to a potential issue with the rear-side window trim.

The trim may not be properly secured and could detach while the vehicle is moving. A detached component could create a hazard for other road users.

Affected owners will receive a free inspection and repair at authorized Ford dealerships.

Ford will notify owners of affected vehicles with instructions regarding the recall process.

All repairs, including:

will be completed free of charge at authorized Ford service centers.

Owners can also check whether their vehicle is included by using their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) through Ford’s official recall lookup system.
