Lando Norris Launches LN4 Fusion: A New Racing Team Built to Create Future F1 Stars

Formula 1 World Champion Lando Norris has officially expanded his influence beyond the cockpit by launching a new junior single-seater racing team called LN4 Fusion. The ambitious project aims to create a stronger pathway for young drivers chasing the dream of reaching Formula 1 through competitions such as Formula 3, Formula 2, Formula Regional, and Formula 4.

Norris’ involvement marks a significant moment in modern junior motorsport. For the first time, an active Formula 1 world champion has directly supported and invested in a junior single-seater team with the goal of developing future racing talent.

Alongside LN4 Fusion, Norris has also created the LN4 Legacy program, an initiative focused on identifying and supporting promising young drivers from karting through the professional ranks. The program will provide financial assistance, driver coaching, performance development, and career guidance for talented racers who may struggle to access the opportunities needed to progress.

“I know that reaching Formula 1 takes more than just talent. You need the right people around you, the right support, and the right opportunities at the right time,” Norris explained.

“That is what both projects are about. LN4 Fusion aims to build a racing team capable of competing with the best in junior motorsport, while LN4 Legacy is designed to help young drivers gain opportunities they may not otherwise have.”

LN4 Fusion Targets F3 and F2 Competition

LN4 Fusion is scheduled to begin its racing operations in 2027, with plans already confirmed for the FIA Formula 3 Championship, the Formula Regional European Championship, and the Italian Formula 4 Championship.

As part of its preparation, the organization has acquired key assets from German racing team AIX Racing, including its Formula 3 entry rights through the 2027 season and plans to apply for participation in Formula 2.

The team’s vision goes beyond simply competing on track. Norris wants LN4 Fusion to become a complete development platform where young drivers, engineers, mechanics, and racing personnel can grow together in a professional environment.

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed the project, highlighting the importance of junior categories in building the future of the sport.

“Seeing Lando Norris involved in this new project is a powerful statement about how important the Formula 2 and Formula 3 pyramid is for the future of Formula 1,” Domenicali said.

“Through Lando’s investment and experience, we can help build the future with new drivers, engineers, mechanics, and traditions that will inspire motorsport fans.”

René Rosin Brings Championship-Winning Experience

To lead the project, Norris has appointed René Rosin as team principal. Rosin is widely regarded as one of the most successful figures in junior single-seater racing after more than four decades of experience with Prema Racing, one of the most dominant teams in junior motorsport.

During his time at Prema, Rosin helped develop numerous drivers who later reached Formula 1, including Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, and current F1 contender Kimi Antonelli. The team also played an important role in the early careers of drivers such as Jacques Villeneuve, who later became a Formula 1 World Champion.

Rosin believes Norris’ personal experience as a driver will be a major advantage for the new organization.

“Lando has gone through the junior single-seater ladder himself and understands the challenges involved. His involvement will make a real difference to this team,” Rosin said.

“We want to create a clear pathway through junior motorsport and build an environment where drivers, engineers, and racing professionals can perform at the highest level.”

Building a Complete Pathway From Karting to Formula 1

A key part of LN4 Fusion will come from the experience of Fusion Motorsport, a British karting organization with more than 25 years of success and multiple national and international titles.

Dan Hazlewood, head of Fusion Motorsport’s karting division, will lead LN4 Fusion UK operations, including plans for the British F4 Championship and the continued development of young talents coming from karting.

The organization is currently developing its European headquarters in Veneto, northern Italy, while maintaining its UK base in Cambridgeshire for its Formula 4 operations.

LN4 Fusion CEO Dan Richards believes the project has assembled a rare combination of experience, investment, and ambition.

“What we have created is much more than simply acquiring a racing team,” Richards said.

“We have brought together a Formula 1 World Champion, the most successful junior single-seater team leader of the last two decades, world-class motorsport expertise, significant investment, and a shared ambition to build a team capable of competing at the highest level.”

Lando Norris’ decision to create LN4 Fusion could become one of the most influential moves in modern motorsport development. Many talented young drivers never reach Formula 1 because of financial barriers rather than a lack of ability. If Norris can turn LN4 Fusion into a successful talent factory, his legacy could extend far beyond his achievements as a world champion.

The big question now is whether LN4 Fusion can become the next great driver academy in motorsport, following the footsteps of teams like Prema Racing. The journey begins in 2027, and the racing world will be watching closely.
